New semester, same closet, but hear us out: you don't need a whole new wardrobe to feel put-together walking into your 9am. You need a formula. Here's ours.
- One elevated basic per outfit. A plain tee and jeans is fine, but a plain tee and jeans plus one piece that actually has a point of view (a crewneck with real detail, a skirt that fits right) reads intentional instead of thrown-on.
- Layer for the walk, not just the classroom. It's always either freezing or way too warm on campus. A hoodie or zip-up you can tie, layer, or fully commit to is doing more work than anything else in your closet.
- Let one thing repeat all week and no one will notice. The girls who look effortless aren't rebuying their whole outfit daily, they've got two or three pieces they trust and they just remix the rest.
- Comfortable enough to fall asleep in during a 2pm lecture. Yes, this is a real metric. If you're adjusting your outfit more than you're taking notes, it's not the one.
- Buy fewer things you actually like instead of more things you sort of like. This one's less a style tip and more a life tip, but it applies here more than anywhere: the pieces that make it through finals week, winter break, and still look good sophomore year are never the impulse ones.
That last one is the real secret, honestly. Chic isn't more clothes, it's better ones.
